Yakima's New 4055 Universal Foam Block Canoe Carrier

Yakima 4055 Universal Foam Block Canoe Carrier
Until now, there haven't been many options for carrying canoes on factory installed crossbars. Your only option has usually been to set the canoe right on the crossbars-which will get your boat to the water, but not before scuffing (or worse!) the gunwales and crossbars. The new Yakima 4055 Universal Foam Block Canoe Carrier is an inexpensive new offering that safely cushions your canoe on almost any factory crossbars. It also fits Yakima Roundbars, Thule square loadbars, and roofs without any rack at all!
Yakima 4055 Universal Foam Block Canoe Carrier    The Universal Foam Block Canoe Carrier includes everything you'll need to safely carry your canoe. The foam gunwale cushion blocks are designed to fit most gunwale and hull designs, and the shaped crossbar cutouts fit Yakima round bars, Thule square and aero bars, and most aerodynamically shaped factory installed crossbars (most crossbars up to 2 1/2" wide by 1 1/4" high). For vehicles without any roof rack, the gunwale cushions feature a high grip laminated anti-skid pad to prevent your boat from shifting around while you're out on the highway. Bow and stern tiedowns and center load strap to secure your canoe are included, as is a handy mesh carry bag for storage. Setup is simple, and full instructions are included. Spring is on the way, so grab the Universal Foam Block Carrier, dust off your canoe, and get ready!

Yakima's BoatLoader and Thule's Outrigger II Kayak and Canoe Load Assists

nbsp;   If you've already got a kayak or canoe rack on your vehicle, but you wish lifting your boat up onto the roof wasn't quite so cumbersome, these load assist options from Yakima and Thule will help you get that boat on the roof without having to trade your existing rack for an expensive roller system. The Thule 847 Outrigger II Kayak / Canoe Rack Loader fits Thule square bar roof racks, and when not in use, the telescoping arm slides back inside the crossbar. Then the integrated load stop flips down and locks the Outrigger in place, so it'll never slide out unexpectedly and hit you in the head. Installing this might take all of three minutes. Pop off the end cap on your roof rack's load bar, slide the Outrigger II into the load bar flat side down, and tighten the retainer bolt with the included allen wrench. If you need to install an Outrigger on both sides of your vehicle, you may have to put one in the front crossbar and one in the rear if you have shorter cro...
