The Yakima Showdown is the first of it’s kind side loader for both kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. The last thing anyone wants to do after a day on the water is lift your 80lb kayak to put it on the roof of your vehicle! Yakima’s ShowDown solves that problem with it’s slide and tilt mechanism that allows you to load your kayak or SUP at weight height, making loading and unloading much easier.  

The ShowDown includes flexible width-adjustable felt covered kayak and SUP saddles that easily conform to the size and contours of your boat or boards. The ShowDown's flip-out loading platform folds flat when not in use, providing a low profile for improved overhead clearance. The ShowDown features tool-free installation with built-in universal mounting hardware, and may be locked to your crossbars for additional security (SKS Lock cores are sold separately). The ShowDown is compatible on most vehicles with Yakima, Thule, Rhino-Rack, Malone and Inno after-market crossbars.  Please note that specific vehicle fits and crossbar lengths will be required for the ShowDown to have proper side clearance. You must have a minimum of 3.5" of crossbar protruding beyond the tower and the outboard clamp can be no farther than 4" from the tower. Heavy-duty tie-down straps and bow stern tie-downs are included.

It is important to note that the Showdown is not compatible with factory crossbars, flush mounted crossbars, Yakima's BaseLine roof rack, or any other roof rack that mounts similar to the BaseLine rack.  There is a minimum of 3.5" of crossbar protruding beyond the towers is required for installation.

Yakima's BoatLoader and Thule's Outrigger II Kayak and Canoe Load Assists

nbsp;   If you've already got a kayak or canoe rack on your vehicle, but you wish lifting your boat up onto the roof wasn't quite so cumbersome, these load assist options from Yakima and Thule will help you get that boat on the roof without having to trade your existing rack for an expensive roller system. The Thule 847 Outrigger II Kayak / Canoe Rack Loader fits Thule square bar roof racks, and when not in use, the telescoping arm slides back inside the crossbar. Then the integrated load stop flips down and locks the Outrigger in place, so it'll never slide out unexpectedly and hit you in the head. Installing this might take all of three minutes. Pop off the end cap on your roof rack's load bar, slide the Outrigger II into the load bar flat side down, and tighten the retainer bolt with the included allen wrench.
