If your vehicle has
factory installed tracks on the roof Thule
has a great base rack for
you! With the ability to put your racks just where you want them, roof
racks don't get much more versatile than this. You can also remove
these racks with the push of a button
when you won't be using them for awhile.
After you get the Thule Tracker Kit mounted to your vehicle, take all four Thule 430 / 430R Tracker II Towers and slide them onto the Thule crossbars. If you’re unable to slide the towers onto the bars you might need to loosen the bolt located just above the gray button. To do this, push the gray button in and slide the black thumb tab down. This will expose the Allen bolt. Loosening this bolt will loosen the wedge that tightens the tower to the bar, which will allow the towers to slide onto the crossbars (If you are using Thule's 430R system with the aluminum bars, you'll be sliding the towers into the bars.) After sliding the towers onto the crossbars put the Thule end caps on the bars. This will prevent the towers from sliding off the crossbars. The next step would be to lower the towers onto the Tracker Kit base brackets. You want to make sure that all base brackets are lined up properly. You can check this by mounting the crossbars to the base brackets. If everything sits flush and all four towers snap into place without a problem you have successfully mounted the base brackets. If not, you will have to adjust the base brackets accordingly. At this point you should still be able to slide the crossbars through the towers. Keep the towers sitting on the base brackets and adjust the crossbars so that you’ve evenly distributed the crossbar on both sides. Once that's done, tighten the Allen bolt located above the gray button. This will prevent the crossbars from sliding through the towers. With the push of a button the towers and bars can be easily removed and reinstalled in seconds. The Thule Tracker Kits 1 - 12 for Tracker II Rack come with protective covers to place over the bases when the racks have been removed, which is why you can simply leave the Thule Tracker Kit mounted to your vehicle when the rack is not in use. We would recommend removing the rack when not in use for long periods, as this will help keep your rack in pristine condition.

Installation
Instructions/Tips
The Thule 430 and 430r
Rapid Tracker II Track Mounted Foot Pack system
attaches to vehicles with factory installed track systems, and to
certain vehicles with fixed mounting points. The Thule
430 Tracker II Foot Pack is used with the Thule rectangular crossbars.
The Thule 430R Rapid Tracker II Foot Pack is used with the Thule
aluminum oval shaped crossbars. Not all vehicles have the same style
tracks, which is why Thule has designed 13 different Tracker Kits that
will allow the 430 / 430R Foot Packs to fit many different
vehicles.
Before installing the Thule 430 / 430R Tracker II
Foot Pack you must
mount the Thule Tracker Kit first. The installation difficulty depends
on which Thule Tracker Kit your vehicle requires. There are only two
Thule Tracker Kits that require drilling, Thule
Tracker Kit 13 and 14.
Thule Tracker Kit 13 mounts to fiberglass surfaces, like truck camper
shells, and Thule Tracker Kit 14 fastens to sheet metal roofs. Thule
Tracker Kit 14 includes flare-nut hardware to eliminate headliner
removal. The remaining Thule Tracker Kits are much easier to install.
The Tracker Kit
mounting instructions vary from vehicle to vehicle, but all
instructions and tools you'll need are right in the box. For most
Tracker Kits mounting involves bolting the Tracker Kit base to square
nuts slid into your factory tracks, or bolting them into a metal
bracket (included) bolted onto a fixed mount point.

Test
The Installation
Push up on the end of bar to test the
installation. Also, grab the bar near the towers and pull back
and forth. If the tower or crossbar slides, check tower for
tightness and retighten.
